I am deeply committed to NAMI Yakima because I recognize the critical gaps in mental health care that our community faces. My passion for mental health services drives me to guide, facilitate, and implement essential support programs, advocate for those in need, and promote mental health education. With four years of experience in case management and serving as co-chair of the Yakima Community Coalition, I have gained valuable insights into the pressing needs within our community. My dedication to community work is unwavering, and I am eager to contribute to initiatives that support our collective well-being. As a lifelong resident of the valley, I share my husband’s sentiment: “I was born here, I grew up here, and I plan to be here forever. From the hop fields of Emerald to the sagebrush of Prosser, this is my home” and I am committed to helping it thrive.

I care deeply about access to mental health resources because I experience mental illness myself, and many people I love do too. The stigma surrounding mental health remains strong, but we can only break it by being honest and sharing our stories. As Father Greg Boyle wisely said, "The measure of our compassion lies not in our service of those on the margins, but in our willingness to see ourselves in kinship with them."

My commitment to mental health stems from a belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate care and support. Partnering with NAMI Yakima allows me to advocate for a community where mental well-being is prioritized and stigma is eradicated.

I believe in giving back to our community. By sharing our stories, good and bad, we show that we are human! I love having the ability to meet people where they are in life. No one walks alone!

Being born and raised in the Yakima Valley, I have been committed to serve our communities as a mental health professional. NAMI has been an amazing resource in my social work practice, and as a community member. I am thankful to be able to give back and share the mission of NAMI Yakima.
